What do the rugs in the above groups have in common? All feature modern, contemporary designs. All are machine made with crisp detail. Machine-made rugs tend to shed less than handmade rugs. Most have a low pile height -- about 1/3 inch thick, with a jute backing. Groups are arranged approximately by price. In the first groups, the yarns are synthetic, making the rugs perfect for high-traffic areas. The last three groups are made from wool yarns. Most are made in the USA, China or Belgium.
